The Role
This is not an apprentice position. We are looking for someone who has already spent years on residential doors and can be handed a full replacement in the morning without a second set of hands or a phone call halfway through.
State 48 is Arizona owned and growing, and the install side is where most of that growth is going. A senior installer here gets the work that needs judgement rather than the work that needs a body, and gets first refusal on a lead role as the crew grows.
What You Would Be Doing
- Run your own installs across the Phoenix metro, most of them single-day jobs
- Take the harder work: custom doors, high lift conversions, carport conversions
- Check the opener, tracks, and hardware while the door is apart, and quote what you find
- Mentor an apprentice or a newer installer once you are settled
- Leave the garage cleaner than you found it, every time
What We Are Looking For
- Several years installing residential garage doors, start to finish, on your own
- Comfortable setting torsion springs, sizing them to the door, and balancing what you hang
- Experienced with full replacements as well as openers, tracks, and hardware
- A clean driving record and the right to work in Arizona
- Able to talk a homeowner through the work without leaning on jargon
